RML Academy of Laboratory Medicine

The Medical Laboratory Internship is a mandatory 6-month experiential training program designed for graduates of Biomedical Sciences or Medical Laboratory Sciences. It takes place in a clinical diagnostic laboratory, equipping interns with the knowledge, skills, and competencies essential to work independently as Medical Laboratory Technologists.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold one of the following:

• B.Sc. (Biochemistry)/M.Sc. (Biochemistry)
• DMLT/BMLT/MLT
• B.Tech Biotechnology

Course Duration: Six Months (Full-Time)

Course Structure:

The training will be rotational and structured over 06 months as follows:

• Phlebotomy and Sample Management - 1 month
• Biochemistry and Special Biochemistry - 1 months
• Hematology and Flowcytometry - 1 months
• Histopathology & Cytopathology - 1 months
• Microbiology & Serology - 1 months
• Molecular Pathology and Cytogenetics - 1 month

Theory Sessions:

• 6 sessions per week (30 minutes each)
• Topics include Quality, Safety, and other relevant technical subjects
• Internal assessments will be conducted periodically

Selection Process:

• Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview
• If the number of applicants exceeds the intake capacity, a written test followed by an interview will be conducted

Certification:

A certificate will be awarded upon:

• Minimum 80% attendance
• Successful completion of a final assessment (written, practical, and viva)
